A cogeneration plant dedicated to the production of electricity on the Madeira Island, via the Caniçal Thermal Power Plant, with a sole client for the electricity production (EEM – Empresa de Eletricidade da Madeira), also supplies steam to various industrial facilities located in the Caniçal Industrial Zone.
It is equipped with 6 diesel/fuel generator sets with a total production capacity of 72 MW, ensuring about 24% of the total electricity consumed on Madeira Island.
